EdMeCo is youth-centric education, mentorship, and connections that is uniquely designed by a team of experts to support and guide youth (19+) in chasing down their dreams.
Many youth, arriving in Canada in their late teens, age out of the public school system and the supports within it. They are then faced with significant barriers in navigating the systems – like completing their basic education, learning English, housing, citizenship, employment and rights among others. As you might imagine, for most migrant youth, turning 19 can mean confusion, hopelessness and having to choose entry-level or exploitative employment over completing a basic education.
We are a growing team of educators, mentors professionals with over 50 years of collective experience in working with youth, migrants, and vulnerable populations. Our team also includes talented migrant youth who work with us in designing and delivering creative solutions for the current issues that are relevant, timely, personalized, and youth-centric. We provide educational, mentorship and networking opportunities that propel every youth who has ambition to reach their life goals.
EdMeCo is open to partnerships of all kinds. We know that it is through strong community partnerships between civil society, the private and public sector that we will see the full capabilities of these young people shine. We are confident that by joining EdMeCo as a volunteer, sponsor, donor, tutor, mentor, or in any other way will be of benefit.
